Catching up.

So much has happened in my life since my last posting. B and I are grandparents now. We have a handful of grandbabies who call us Mimi and Pa. They are literally the light of our lives. Both B and I had such wonderful memories of our own grandparents and we try our best to make similar memories for our grandchildren to cherish. They are each their own unique selves, like our kids were and we love them for it.

I lost my Aunt Donna, two years ago. She was my constant and the last person left on earth who I believe just loved me unconditionally start to finish. Today is my birthday. I miss her voice singing me happy birthday every year when she would call.

We also lost our beloved boxer, Raylan in August of last year. While he was 10 years old, which is an old man in boxer years, it was unexpected and heartbreaking. He was our late in life baby and we are still grieving.

Our children are all married now, have babies of their own, and we couldn’t be more proud of each of them.

I’ve had the urge to write down more memories and document my life lately . Since I have a platform here that I was planning on using for that very reason why not.

Don’t do it, Eleanor told the little girl; insist on your cup of stars; once they have trapped you into being like everyone else you will never see your cup of stars again; don’t do it; and the little girl glanced at her, and smiled a little subtle, dimpling, wholly comprehending smile, and shook her head stubbornly at the glass. Brave girl, Eleanor thought; wise, brave girl.
