Random Throwback to 25 Questions About Me

Posted on February 2, 2013February 15, 2013 by admin

 1. I adore babies. As a teenager I used to dream of adopting a houseful of Romanian babies or I wanted to have 6 kids. My only slight regret in life is not having another child but I know that I will be a fab grandma  one day.
2. My hair was so long in elementary school I could actually sit on it.

3. When I was 16 I saw a photo of my husband in a yearbook and knew we would get married one day.

4. I can perform some awesome stupid human tricks like tying a cherry stem in a knot with my tongue, touching my tongue to my nose, and apply lipstick using my cleavage.(look no hands!) I have yet to engage in any sort of intelligent conversation with the few people who find this sort of thing cute. 🙂

5. I am really scared of bats. I just know those ugly flying rats will get tangled in my hair, bite my neck, and give me rabies. I will hurt myself and anyone who stands in my way when I am trying to get away from one. Just ask the people I mowed down during a cave tour.

6. I am also kind of scared of Guy Smiley from Sesame Street.

7. I had chronic bladder infections growing up that required two surgeries and from ages 4-12 I had to take antibiotics every day. I also could not eat any chocolate, spicy foods, drink colored soda, or take bubble baths. It was a pain in the ass. It really used to make me furious when my brother got a chocolate bunny in his easter basket while I got an almond bark bunny.

8. Reading novels during my classes in high school prevented me from ever having straight A’s.

9. One day I will write a book. Or a really good blog if I am lucky.

10. I was a bratty little girl. A few of my greatest hits… Eating paint (I thought it was melted vanilla ice cream), spitting on my aunt and throwing the car keys during a trip to the St. Louis zoo, slamming my brother’s fingers in the car door then locking it, trying to close myself inside the fridge (I was pretending I was at the north pole), & telling my bus driver that my aunt could take her teeth out.

11. I think there is no such thing as owning to many books or eating to many dark chocolate truffles.
12. I love to laugh & sometimes have a strange sense of humor. Quoting lines from Mommy Dearest with my sister would make me roll in the floor laughing as a teenager.  I can still be very immature and get down to my kids level of disgusting bathroom humor any day of the week.

13. From october to january I go Martha Stewart style crazy in the kitchen whipping up new recipes for the holidays. I am so burned out from cooking that after the new year we end up eating a lot of grilled cheese and chicken nuggets until spring.

14. Pinterest is my drug of choice.
15. If I am trying to get myself/kids ready to go somewhere  and my husband rushes me, I get to hot ,or my hair begins to frizz, I am likely to have a meltdown. It’s not pretty.

16. I need clean sheets on a king sized bed, a fan, my husband beside me and 3 very fluffy pillows for my own use to have a really good night’s sleep.

17. Some of the jobs I’ve held are a preschool teacher’s aide, daycare teacher, activity coordinator at a nursing home, built silk trees/ floral arrangements, full-time stay at home mommy and housewife. I am currently a part-time library manager and own an internet news site that highlights our small town, I also have various small jobs doing photography and managing websites for businesses in my area. I can also finish sheet rock. But I really don’t like to.

18. I have previously waste a lot of time worrying about “what if?” What if my kids move really far away from home when they grow up and we aren’t as close? What if I get a terminal illness? What if forgot to write down that last debit charge? I wasted equal amounts of time trying to figure out how I would deal with”what if” any of these things actually happened. Now I tend to roll with it a little more but worrying is still in my blood , my grandpa was a worrier and I suppose I get it from him.

19. I like trash tv, classic movies, and route 44 drinks from Sonic.
20. I’ve kept a day planner since I was 18. I could not function without one.

21. My family means everything to me. I love being a wife and mom.

22. I am a list maker who doodles all around my lists.

23. I love to dance.
24. I often stay in the bathtub or our hot tub until my fingers prune. The bathtub is my quiet place and I do my best thinking there.

25. I keep various junk near my corner of the couch in our living room. A basket that contains, a pen, small notebook, jergens’s lotion, fingernail clippers, vanilla bonnie bell lip gloss, tv remote, my cell phone,my  Ipad, whatever book I am currently reading, and usually a can of diet dr. pepper sitting on the end table. My husband refers to this as my cat pile. 🙂

Don’t do it, Eleanor told the little girl; insist on your cup of stars; once they have trapped you into being like everyone else you will never see your cup of stars again; don’t do it; and the little girl glanced at her, and smiled a little subtle, dimpling, wholly comprehending smile, and shook her head stubbornly at the glass. Brave girl, Eleanor thought; wise, brave girl.
