When my mother in law would talk to people about her son and I she referred to both of us as “her kids”. As my husband said this morning I was the daughter she never had and she was the mother to me that I don’t have. She was my confidant and my friend. Linda was one of the strongest women I’ve ever known.
My Uncle and Aunt were neighbors to B’s parents for a time. My Aunt Donna still tells the story of how one day shortly after they moved in Ray was splitting wood. Linda marched over and asked if she could do that for him. She earned my Uncle Ray’s admiration and friendship that day. She dearly loved the outdoors and working in the yard.
I’m so very sad for B losing his dear mama, our children for losing their Mawmaw who absolutely adored them. Linda had the best of sons in B. Every night I saw him take her hands in his as he helped her to bed saying I got you Mom, we got this. One of the most loving things on earth is the care I saw him and our children give to her.
When we would say I love you she would say I love you more. Family was everything to her. Just Sunday she looked up and saw me looking sad. She winked at me and no words were needed.
I know she is dancing with her true love today, she is hugging her mama and daddy, she is laughing with her Aunt and my Uncle Ray. She is looking down on all of us from her place in heaven telling us not to be sad for her because she is happier than she’s ever been. ❤🌹🙏🏻
