A Minute of My Time

Posted on July 12, 2012July 12, 2012 by admin

Enough time is the one thing that seems to elude me on my road to happiness. There is never enough of it or should I say enough time to do what I want.  I know there are people who have much more demanding jobs, more kids, and pets to deal with than yours truly but I do have trouble keeping on a schedule for whatever reason. I blame it partially on the news business which is not friendly to managing your day since the whole point of breaking news is getting it out there as soon as possible even if it means stalling dinner plans, sleeping, or just relaxing for a few hours. Sure if I hired someone it might fix things but I can’t stand turning control or care over to anyone else when it comes to my fourth “child” the news website.

Our family vacation begins this weekend and while unplugging from everything sounds like a wonderful plan I do wonder if I can stick to not looking at emails, answering phone calls, and updating websites for a whole ten days.  See if I get that one tiny email with someone asking me to add such and such it literally drives me out of my mind until I add it.  🙁 Sad aren’t I.

I have plans to take a lot of photo’s and play with my camera over vacation. Swimming, snorkeling, mini golf, time with the kids, movies, and just being a lake bum are my hopes for next week.  Let’s see how it goes.

Don’t do it, Eleanor told the little girl; insist on your cup of stars; once they have trapped you into being like everyone else you will never see your cup of stars again; don’t do it; and the little girl glanced at her, and smiled a little subtle, dimpling, wholly comprehending smile, and shook her head stubbornly at the glass. Brave girl, Eleanor thought; wise, brave girl.
